The Archive offers a display of 40-plus years of cultural history. Who did what, why, when and to what effect. More than an absorbing archive: also a do-it-yourself kit to contribute to future cultural initiatives; covering events created by the Black-E as well as the work of visiting artists.

The players are sat in a circle around the storyteller. The storyteller begins by asking questions.  The players all agree on the answer before this answer is given to the storyteller (or, alternatively, they all agree that they cannot answer the question).

This Conference was not run by the Black-E but it is included in the Archive a) because of Bill's involvement  and b) because the Archive aims to include work associated with Black Dance which links to work done at the Black-E

Anna Lockwood is a distinguished New Zealand composer, now called Annea Lockwood and resident in America. She first came to Liverpool in 1967 when Wendy Harpe promoted her Glass Concert (in which Anna made music from a range of glass - from striking long glass rods of varying lengths to dropping glass beads into metal containers) at the Bluecoat Chambers.

Ken Campbell's  Road Show - led by the immitable Ken Campbell   - was a group of six performers based in Chorley Lancashire.  The Blackie promoted their Bar Room Tales in May 1970.

A player runs into a room where one player is lowering themselves to the ground in slow motion and the other players are each individually and quietly engaged in building card houses.  The running player is breathing heavily and beginning to sweat.  This player steps carefully over to the figure moving in slow motion  -  avoiding any vibration likely to disturb the card houses which are being assembled  -  and touches the slow moving figure on the shoulder.  After a moment of relaxa
