“I am filled with admiration for all of the stuff that you are doing…”
David Bintley CBE, Director Birmingham Royal Ballet
Fallen Angels Dance Theatre (FADT) is a process-led company based in North West England and led by Artistic Director, Paul Bayes-Kitcher. Paul, previously a soloist for Birmingham Royal Ballet, formed the company to develop his work with vulnerable young people and adults that have experienced addiction and alcoholism in their lives.
The company is committed to producing high quality original issue-based dance theatre, offering audiences the opportunity to embark on their own personal experience. Throughout September 2011, FADT will be performing new work Chapter One in venues across the Northwest, along with supporting performances from the company's outreach groups.
Chapter one: Battle for the Soul
Chapter One explores an addict’s path to recovery and questions the chain of events that find a person gripped by addiction. The piece looks at how fear, guilt and frustration lead to a deepening journey where there is no way out...
Chapter One is based on FADT’s process-led work with recovered addicts and uses their ‘real life’ testimonies as inspiration, touching on individual aspirations of hope, recovery and selflessness.
