Building Sight - Sailing - 14/15 December 1974

The Idea.  Sailing is about imagination. Combine the unfinished building and figures sailing in a mesh of steel girders. Could they go through the walls and into space?

Sailing was Robin Riley's second contribution to Building Sight.  It was installed by Robin and his son Simon. The above is Robin's description of the installation.

As can be seen from the above photographs, Sailing was both a really successful exploration of the space and a really imaginative response to it.
