Intro The majority of Themed Playschemes have been written up specifically for the Archive Website. This is not the case with 'Liverpool Firsts'.  Below is a Report which was written at the time.   It is unaltered apart from the condensing of some of the statistical information which in the original runs to several pages.

The Blackie is next to Chinatown and we have long taken some part in the Chinese New Year celebrations.  In 1984, the Year of The Rat, (re-branded as the Year Of The Mouse – don’t ask) we did a street stall with trays of sugar mice in the 6 rainbow colours.  The many people who come to see the Dragon Dance and celebrate Chinese New Year were invited to make a wish for the New Year and enjoy a sugar mouse.

3-10pm Kevin Rowan's & Nicky Dewison's Party (for Blackie regulars aged 12 and under). We know that 'The Party' included a puppet theatre, a Clown who did magic and comedy, a disco and of course food and a birthday cake.  What is less clear is the actual running order of events, so below is an educated guess. 3pm - 4.30pm Cartoon Film show, Puppet Theatre and Comedy/Magic.
