We are looking for circus artists to contribute to the training of The Black-E Youth Circus while also working towards their own further professional development in the unique circus spaces of The Black-E.

We will be pleased to meet and talk with circus artists with aerial and with ground based skills.  We will particularly welcome interest from :-

  • Women
  • BAME
  • Disabled

In the first instance, we are looking for an aerialist to start as soon as possible.

Overall, we are looking for artists with experience and skills in the aerial areas of silks, rope, hoops, tight rope and trapeze and the ground based areas of juggling and hula hoops as well as with the experience of working with children of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages (particularly 7-18).  Ideally you will have trained in your discipline of work with evidence of accreditation and CRB check.

But The Black-E is a also a “come-and-learn” place.  So if you have circus skills, but relatively little experience of working with children, come and talk with us.  We can provide support for artists learning to work with children.

Our finances are limited, as are the fees we are able to pay.  But, as compensation, participants will have free use of spaces in one of finest and most inspiring circus venues in the country in order to undertake their own research and development, further their training, and create their own work.  We can also provide accommodation for artists travelling from outside Liverpool.
